The centre console is between the commanderÕs seat and the pilotÕs seat. This is where the main controls for the ShuttleÕs computer systems are. From here the crew can control the digital autopilot, or DAP. The crew can also control the backup flight system, or BFS from the centre console. The switches for emergency SRB and ET separation are located here as well.
